Russian stocks grow despite worsened foreign moods

MOSCOW, Sep 22 (PRIME) -- Russian stocks managed to stay in plus by the end of trading on Tuesday despite some deterioration of the foreign sentiment, analysts said.

The MOEX Russia Index rose 0.73% to 2,884.66 and the RTS increased 1.00% to 1,193.06.

“The MOEX Russia Index and the RTS remained in plus by the end of trading, but retreated from the session’s peaks due to some deterioration of the sentiment abroad,” Veles Capital analyst Yelena Kozhukhova said.

Trading in the U.S. started with growth of three main indices, which retreated from the day’s highs by the end of the Russian session and were losing 0.2–0.5%. Moderately positive moods were seen on European floors.

The nearest futures for Brent and WTI oil retreated from the session’s peaks by the end of trading in Russia and were trading mixed within 0.5%.

En+ Group was among growth leaders rising by 5.53%. Retailer Magnit added 3.3%.

National flagship carrier Aeroflot lost 2.45% with its shares remaining under pressure of the news about an additional share offering and a 51.6% decline of passenger traffic in August.
